Despite the proverbial "the customer is always right," the relationship between the customer and the company has long been organized for the benefit of the latter. But the ability for companies to completely control this relationship has disappeared. Social CRM: The New Rules of Relationship Management , a report from the Altimeter Group released earlier this month, serves to help companies and organizations understand the changing territory. The report offers a thorough framework with which companies can strategize their adoption of social CRM projects. Sponsor Based on research with companies who have pioneered an embrace of social technologies for relationship management, the report lists 18 use cases that serve as entry points for social CRM efforts. These include social customer insights (tracking customers' preferences via social media sites like Facebook), rapid social marketing response (defending the brand in real-time), and crowdsourced R&D (eliciting real-time feedback to enhance innovation). The report rates each use case by its market demand and tech maturity, indiced to help organizations see which might be the most expedient and appropriate entry points for their social CRM endeavors. It also lists vendors to watch, pointing out that there is currently no single tool to help organizations track customer data and customer conversations in a world of rapidly changing social technologies. The report has six recommendations for organizations: Breathe social. Complement existing CRM processes. Measure social CRM projects on business goals rather than solely on engagement. Be prepared for rapid change. Find other social CRM pioneers. The most important, perhaps: Act now. The report cautions companies against falling even further out of step with customers by not engaging with social technologies to expand their CRM processes. Well-researched and with clear definitions, the report could also help companies avoid undertaking social CRM projects merely for the buzz. Discuss

Panda Security is reporting a second incident of malware on Vodafone's HTC Magic, a Google Android smart phone. it provide a clear example for how smartphones are prime targets to become botnets once connected to a user's personal computer. The incidents provide real-world examples of how companies can inadvertently spread malware. It also raises questions about the quality assurance testing done by manufacturers and the carriers. Sponsor After the first discovery earlier this month, Vodafone said it was an isolated incident. But two days later the company announced the HTC Magic would be discontinued . Vodafone also deleted questions about the issue from its forums. A Panda employee discovered the "Mariposa," virus after connecting it via USB her PC. Her Panda Cloud Anti-Virus software detected the malicious code, revealing that the smart phone was infected and spreading the virus to the PC. Mariposa is a program that turns infected machines into botnets. it has infected more than 13 million computers, stealing credit card and bank log-in information. In the second incident, an IT security expert who had bought the phone learned about the virus discovery. He decided to test his phone, using AVG anti-virus protection. Sure enough, his device also showed it had malware on it. According to Panda Security: This guy had also purchased an HTC Magic direct from Vodafone's official website the same week as my co-worker. He hadn't connected the phone to his PC yet, but as soon as he saw the news hurried back home, plugged it in via USB and scanned its memory card with both MalwareBytes and AVG Free. Lo and behold, Mariposa emerged again, exactly in the same way as in our original finding. The HTC Magic has historically been sold in Europe. Discuss

Despite her confidence, all of the experience she claimed to have, and that shaved head of hers, Naduah turned out to be one of the ladies cut from America's Next Top Model on Wednesday night's episode. The judges felt Naduah had potential to be edgy, but she was only delivering classic, safe poses during her photo shoots. And her runway walk during this week's challenge left Ms. J looking more puzzled than pleased. I can't help but be disappointed that Naduah -- and her fascinating stories -- will be missing from cycle 14. I mean, it was hard to keep track of all the interesting life experiences Naduah had to share, from growing up in a cult, to turning down a job at Playboy, to having so little despite being a successful local model. She was definitely the most fascinating contestant of the season. So, what did you think of Naduah and her elimination? Sound off in the comments.
How cool is this? A chair and table set with a unique feel which is probably not even all that hard to do. From Ilan Dei Studio , this incredible table set (chairs, table and lamps) was created in order to bring nature indoors. Basically for this type of original design you only need a few logs, some specially made seating sponges and a free standing lamp that will be interconnected with the unusual material. We do not doubt this is the type of solution that can be home made. Furthermore, you could think of other fun objects you could have around using logs, such as a carved rustic shelving system for example. We also like how the set was integrated in the pictures below, bringing freshness and originality to the interior.-via Yanko Design
